Just returned from a week in Costa Rica (Playa del Coco and Tamarindo after flying into Liberia) and we rented a cell phone from Carlos at www.WHYNOTPHONES.com and the experience with him and this company was wonderful. It seems like he does most of his business from San Jose, but there was no problem getting the phone to us in Liberia. ($8 surcharge for the Liberia location but the overall cost of the phone was still cheaper than others.) We were met by a nice lady at the Liberia airport holding a sign with our name. We got the phone quickly and were on our way.
The communication with www.WHYNOTPHONES.com was very comprehensive and pleasant and the rental rate for the phone was cheaper than other companies I checked with. The phone number of the cell phone is given to you when the order is confirmed and you can give that to people in the states. Text messages were free for incoming AND outgoing messages and they gave us a calling card to use to call the states. A few days after returning the phone, we received an invoice for the number of minutes we used on the calling card. Carlos also gave us an internet site and a password where people in the US could type a text message using the internet instead of their phones so that there would be no cost from the USA end. The connection for the rental phone was good in all places along the Gold Coast from Coco to Tamarindo. As far as returning the phone, communication was made the day before departing and the pickup time at the airport was confirmed. No problems. This company is easy to deal with in so many ways, and the fact that they let you use your credit card is also convenient. (Note: another company we contacted makes you pay in cash or pay a premium for using PayPal and also makes you give them a cash deposit even though they don’t guarantee that they will return it to you in US dollars-?) Finally, Carlos gives you his cell phone number in case there is a problem. Overall, a great experience with www.WHYNOTPHONES.com.

I do appreciate all the extra help you have given to our group not only myself in getting directions,
the places to go for only the phone rental cost (however I hope the extra we extended to you was enough, sorry we had to almost demand you took the extra $100.00), the extra surely saved us much more than we could ever expect from your company.
Your employees were showed extreme high quality in their service, remembering when we got lost and you came found us and not only gave directions but insisted he drove us back to our hotel (not asking a penny). Goodness how much service
can you offer for a simple phone rental of $10.00 a day (even if we did have 3 phones).
Carlos you and your company should consider doing expanding into other tourist needed areas, being you are already so equipped with a wonderful polite staff.
Rossy was always there for any questions and giving complete answers, and to our surprise you always followed up to see if you (personally) could help any more (Boy what a surprise).

After speaking to Carlos I decided he was a person I could trust to give me a very good price and excellent service when I needed it .Twice a month I travel to Costa Rica and having been doing so for two years and always use the cell phone Carlos assigned me.
Because I am doing business in Costa Rica, it’s important I have the same telephone number so persons in Costa Rica who need to contact me know they can get me right away on my cell phone.
